Big Ears  Animal Sanctuary is, as the word implies, a Sanctuary. We do not aim to re-home every animal, we are not interested in re-homing rates. To us the Sanctuary is their home and if we are able to find another home that is equal to the situations that the animals here live in then we will re-home an animal. Many of the Big Ears animals are here because they were unable to go anywhere else, especially the larger farm animals. We are now home to 12 bovines, 26 cats, over 40 hens, over 150 roosters, 40 ducks, 40 geese, 100 rabbits, 10 birds, 14 goats, 6 horses, 4 donkeys, 2 dogs, 100 turkeys, 13 pigs, 12 sheep and 1 emu. Running a sanctuary takes more than pats, cuddles and kisses. It also takes a lot of money.

As a not for profit registered charity we rely on the goodwill of those who care about animals. Every day expenses include feed, shelters, medication, cleaning, veterinary assistance, and fencing. These costs add up and any donation, no matter how big or small, will help the animals. We are a No Kill Sanctuary which means that animals that are not suitable to be re-homed, or have special needs stay here for the remainder of their lives .This fundraiser is to assist to pay for all the expenses incurred on a daily basis to look after all the animals.
